We scoured the UK in search of our favourite wineries.
As the UK has over 2,000 hectares of vines with around 700 vineyards and 150 wineries, it wasn’t hard to find wineries but it was a tough task to select our favourites (poor us – we know…)
We are thrilled to be working with some incredible winery partners as listed below.
As part of our wine tours we can visit any of these wineries, however if you have another winery in mind, please let us know and we’ll see if we can incorporate them into the tour.
Bluebell – Drive through English country lanes to arrive at this former pig farm turned rustic winery. This is the English wine tasting experience at its very best – you will be led around the vineyards/winery by passionate and talented winemakers Collette and Kevin, finishing at a cosy tasting room where you will most certainly fall in love with English sparkling wine.
Nutbourne – You need to witness the handcrafted care that owners Bridget and Peter put into each and every bottle. You’ll not only appreciate the wine, but will find it hard to select a favourite. Add that to the beautiful vines on the driveway down that lead you to a charming tasting room in a former windmill and you have an incredible place to visit.
Ridgeview – A powerhouse in the English wine industry – it’s incredible to see the progress this family run winery has made since it started just over 20 years ago. This well-run winery has a great setup for visitors and with its international award-winning sparkling wine, it’s certainly one of our favourites. And, if it’s good enough for the queen then it will do for us!
Upperton – This beautiful winery is dedicated to making magnificent English sparkling wine and is a family affair with owner Andy’s children now leading the charge. Nestled in the South Downs, this winery’s cellar door has one of the best vineyard views in the UK!
High-Weald & Kent
Oxney Organic – It’s extremely rare in the wine industry to be able to visit a winery that has such accessible, engaging and passionate owners – simply, visiting Oxney exemplifies why you must visit a winery to fully appreciate wine. You will be taken through the ins and outs of an organic winery, get to see the personal hand crafting of the vines and the wine making process that goes on at Oxney and you’ll taste this labour of love through the incredible delicate award-winning wines that result.
Hush Heath – Have a picture of what an English winery nestled in the English countryside should look like – multiply that ten fold and then you might come close to how beautifully picturesque this winery is. With a stunning selection of wine, a talented winemaker, and a well setup cellar door and vineyard situated in ancient oak woodlands, you can see why this winery is garnering plaudits from afar.
Biddenden – One of the oldest wineries in the UK – you can see why this third generation family-led winery is still popular. They have a well-stocked farm shop, as well as a great range of affordable still and sparkling wines and ciders available on tasting – we always look forward to our visits here.
